SAIR Service Awards
SAIR presents four special recognition awards to celebrate the unique and long lasting impact SAIR members make to the organization and the Institutional Research community at large.
- The Distinguished Member Award is presented to members or former members who have made distinguished contributions to institutional research. This award is a meaningful recognition of significant effort in the field of institutional research. The award is for the lifetime of the individual.
- The James R. Montgomery Outstanding Service Award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to SAIR over an extended period of time.
- The Unsung Hero/Heroine Award recognizes the ongoing contributions of a member to SAIR and the field of institutional research and planning in the broadest sense. This Award honors individuals whose effort and initiative might not otherwise receive public recognition.
- The Larry Jones Student Travel Grant was established in 2005 to honor past SAIR president and executive board member Larry G. Jones. The travel grant is awarded annually to a deserving graduate student meeting award criteria.
The nomination process for these special recognition awards occurs annually, prior to the Conference; a Call for Nominations is distributed via SAIR mail and the Southern AIR newsletter. Additional information regarding these awards, including detailed criteria, is available at http://sair.org/Awards/. Nominations are due to Maren Hess by Friday August 3.
