Welcome to SAIR 2016 in Charlotte, NC!

Make your travel plans to join your SAIR colleagues on October 8-11, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina!

The Westin Charlotte, our conference hotel, is located in the center of Charlotte's business, entertainment, and cultural district known as Uptown. This area is the "pulse of the city" with beautiful parks and green spaces, museums, dining, Fortune 500 businesses, and sports and entertainment areas. You can walk to visit Charlotte’s most visited attractions including Bank of America Stadium (home of the Carolina Panthers NFL team), Time Warner Cable Arena (home of the Charlotte Hornets NBA team), and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. You can also take the LYNX Light Rail, stopping right outside the Westin, to the Epicentre with three floors of dining and entertainment. Plan on arriving early to explore the Queen City!

Less than 10 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Westin Charlotte is accessible from Charlotte's major highways.

The discovery of a large 17-pound gold nugget in 1799 in the Charlotte region attracted many people to the area to follow the nation’s first gold rush.
Carowinds is home to the Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster, at 325 feet high and 95 miles per hour.

Take a picture with Charlotte’s iconic Firebird, located in front of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. The Firebird stands 17.5 feet tall, weighs 1,433 pounds, and is decorated with more than 7,500 pieces of mirrored and colored glass that shimmer in the sun.

The SAIR Conference will offer excitement and energy like Charlotte. The conference program will include informative presentations, pre-conference workshops, and roundtable luncheon discussions. There will also be plenty of time to reconnect with SAIR friends and opportunities to network to make new friends.
